What’s Coming in 2025!

December 30, 2024

A yellow banner with blue text reads "WHAT'S COMING IN 2025!" over photos of a burnt building, people outside a yellow house, and debris.

First of all, I want to express my gratitude to all of our friends and registered partners who have joined us this year! Since starting my role as Disaster Management Coordinator in August, I’ve connected with many amazing organizations, agencies, and individuals within Clackamas County and in the state of Oregon, all with a passion for serving their community in times of disaster as well as blue-sky times.

Since transitioning from a long-term recovery group to CCVOAD, the addition of a Disaster Management Coordinator has been critical.  In the last few months, CCVOAD has grown its partnership base by adding 16 registered state, county, and community-based partners.

Partnership with CCVOAD builds a foundation for cooperation, collaboration, and communication between all of us, as well as creates a bridge for those who work in disaster preparedness and response to work together.

As we look ahead toward the new year, I’m looking forward to working with our partners by facilitating regular monthly meetings, which will provide pertinent information coming from Clackamas County Disaster Management and Oregon Emergency Management, as well as a place for our partners to share about initiatives related to their organization in disaster preparedness and response. In addition to monthly partner meetings, I will also be facilitating OEM’s “Be 2 Weeks Ready” community host trainings. This will be an excellent opportunity for community and faith-based organizations to get trained in disaster preparedness. As CCVOAD’s Disaster Management Coordinator, I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the community of Clackamas County as well as the state of Oregon, and I’m looking forward to what the new year brings as we continue to do the vital work of building a strong network that is effective in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery!

Thank you,

Barbara Edwards
