When disaster strikes, recovery requires not just resources, but compassion, skill, and collaboration. That is exactly what Northwest Baptist Relief, a proud partner of CCVOAD, has brought to the community of Rowena, Oregon, in the aftermath of the recent Rowena Fires.
The fire left a devastating mark: 100 homes affected, with 61 completely destroyed. Families were left sifting through the ashes of what once were their homes, facing the enormous challenge of starting over. In those first, difficult weeks, Northwest Baptist Relief stepped in to provide Personal Property Recovery (PPR), a service that allows survivors to carefully recover meaningful belongings from the debris.
So far, their dedicated volunteers have completed PPR for 12+ homes, giving families the opportunity to reclaim heirlooms, keepsakes, and other precious items that might otherwise have been lost forever. Beyond the practical support, these efforts bring comfort, dignity, and hope to survivors walking the long road of recovery.
