Clackamas County, OR–July 16, 2024: We are excited to announce the official launch of the Clackamas County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (CCVOAD). Previously known as the Clackamas County Long Term Recovery Group (CCLTRG), our dedicated board of directors and partners have been tirelessly working behind the scenes to expand our preparedness, response, and recovery services for the community of Clackamas County, Oregon.
In September 2020, Clackamas County, along with many other communities in the state, was severely impacted by the wildfires. The Riverside Fire, among others, caused significant damage, destroying numerous structures and displacing residents and livestock. The aftermath of these fires revealed a critical gap in insurance coverage for many survivors.
“Through the challenges of recent disasters, we recognized the need for a more coordinated response,” said Pat Olsen, Executive Director of CCVOAD. “CCVOAD’s goal is to facilitate communication, coordination, cooperation, and collaboration among voluntary organizations to ensure effective assistance to those in need before, during, and after disasters.”
CCVOAD will coordinate with voluntary organizations to ensure effective assistance to individuals impacted by various disasters in Clackamas County, Oregon. This coalition of volunteers, nonprofits, agencies, faith-based organizations, and government entities provided essential funding and assistance to those affected by the wildfires, guiding them step-by-step through the rebuilding process.
