Partnership Work with Clackamas County Disaster Management
During the most recent wildfire activation in Clackamas County, CCVOAD stayed directly connected to the latest and most accurate information from the Clackamas County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) by attending daily online meetings. This allowed us to serve our partners and community by relaying important information through CCVOAD’s social media platforms concerning evacuation levels and publicly announced evacuation sites, fire details, as well as important safety and preparedness information. Having a seat at the table helped us understand the potential of unmet needs and gave us targeted goals on how to help build a network of partnerships for future events. We were all grateful the Sandstone fire and other smaller fires did minimal structural damage, primarily affecting pastures and feed for livestock. Great teamwork is happening between the state, county, and local communities, coming together to provide the help local farmers need to replenish what was lost in terms of feed and assistance with livestock needs.
We are thankful and encouraged by our partnership with CCDM and OEM and will continue to establish CCVOAD as a voice and representation of Clackamas County community-based organizations and volunteers in future disasters.
CCVOAD Welcomes Our Three New Partners This Month
- Living Island Nonprofit: Living Islands is a Cultural and Educational Network Organization supporting strong Micronesian communities everywhere by celebrating and advocating for the diverse and unique cultures of the Micronesian people. We welcome them and are looking forward to a successful partnership together!
- Estacada Area Foodbank: The Estacada Area Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization serving the communities of Estacada, Eagle Creek, Barton, Damascus, Carver, and Colton. Its mission is to provide healthy food and other essentials for their communities. We are excited to collaborate with them in their efforts to serve Clackamas County!
- St. Vincent de Paul of Portland: A volunteer-driven partnership of lay Catholics with a mission to serve anyone who comes to them in need, regardless of background or beliefs. They embrace their community by stabilizing households through preventing evictions, maintaining utilities, and providing emergency food to those who are struggling. CCVOAD is thrilled about the prospect of working together in the future!
