April 2026: CCVOAD Partner Events
April brings a full slate of partner events focused on wildfire readiness, volunteer training, and rural disaster preparedness. Community members, volunteers, and local leaders are invited to take part, build skills, and strengthen regional resilience.
Wildfire Ready Workshop
Join the Mt. Hood Corridor Wildfire Partnership for a free, interactive Wildfire Ready Workshop designed to help residents learn essential skills, reduce wildfire risk, and meet their neighbors.

Participants will learn about defensible space, home hardening, evacuation planning, and local resources to stay prepared during wildfire season.
Northwest Disaster Relief Roundtable
The Northwest Disaster Relief Roundtable is a two-day gathering focused on volunteer training, preparation, and community celebration under the theme “Ready, Set, GO!”. It is ideal for current disaster relief volunteers and anyone interested in getting involved in emergency response efforts.

- Location: Pathway Church Gresham, 3848 NE Division Street, Gresham, Oregon
- Cost: 40 dollars per person, includes all training sessions and the event banquet
Attendees can expect workshops, networking, and practical sessions on disaster response, coordination, and long-term recovery.
Rural Communities Prepared for Disasters Webinar Series
The Rural Communities Prepared for Disasters webinar is a free, two-part virtual series hosted by the Oregon Department of Emergency Management.
Session details:
- Session 1 – April 22 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time: Covers emergency communication, evacuation protocols, and backup power options
- Session 2 – May 13 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time: Focuses on recovery funding, planning for a smoother transition post-disaster, and joining long-term recovery groups

Mt. Hood Great Escape Exercise Hosted by CCDM
Looking ahead to May, the Mt. Hood Great Escape Exercise is a full two-day training event hosted by CCDM that will simulate power shutoffs and wildfire evacuations in the Hoodland and Highway 26 corridor.
Exercise details:
- Dates: May 7 to May 8
- Day 1: Focus on Public Safety Power Shutoffs in the Hoodland and Highway 26 corridor
- Day 2: Wildfire starts in the same area, prompting evacuations and sheltering operations
